لحنٌ بداخلي،

يدفعني لأرقص،

يُغنّيه عصفورٌ،

من البيضة يفقس!

يهجرُ اليوم عشّ أمّه،

يهاجر الليلة لصدر حبّه،

هو ليس من هنا،

وليس من هناك.

تسكن روحه ولطالما سكنت

في هدير الأمواج،

في حدود البلاد،

في رائحة الغداء،

في قُيَلِ الوداع،

...

A melody inside of me,

compels me to dance,

which a bird sings,

from his egg he's to hatch!

Leaving today his mother's nest,

To seek tonight a lover's chest,

He's not from here,

Not from there.

His soul dwells and always has

The stroke of a sea wave,

The borders of countries,
